Yes — Tobin Brothers Moving and Storage is a fully licensed and insured, family-owned moving company based in Dayton, OH; we run our own trucks and uniformed crews. We're not a broker or matching service.
Your rates say $118 and $168 an hour — is that what I'll pay?
Those hourly figures only feed the estimate. Once we've walked the home, you're handed one flat price in writing that covers everything — the meter never runs on move day, and nothing gets tacked on after we've loaded up.
Can you get my furniture down a narrow historic-home staircase?
Yes, and Kevin leads those crews. We work Oakwood, Oregon District, and Old North Dayton stairs every week, padding the treads and rails first so neither the piece nor the staircase picks up a scratch.
Who handles the certificate of insurance my building wants?
Diane takes care of it — she sends management the certificate of insurance they ask for and reserves the service elevator ahead of time, keeping the lobby from turning into a bottleneck.
Are you licensed and insured for an Ohio move?
We are — Ohio PUCO household-goods registration plus US DOT and MC authority for interstate, along with our own commercial insurance. Should a claim arise, we handle it ourselves rather than passing it to a third party.
How is my stuff protected, and how long do I have to file a claim?
Every job carries released-value coverage at $0.60 per pound at no charge, with full-value protection available and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment. Interstate claims can be filed for up to nine months after delivery.
Will the same movers who load me also unload me?
Yes — the two or three movers who wrap and load your home are the same crew waiting at the far end. Nobody swaps out partway through, and your move is never handed to an outside company.
Can you pack the whole house the day before, and store it if my closing slips?
Yes to both. Our full-pack crew cartons everything a day early, and short-term storage holds your things in our secured space until the delivery date you name, still at the booked flat rate.
