Dayton Moving Services — Local, Long-Distance, Packing & Storage

Whether it's a Kettering ranch or a downtown Dayton loft, here's how Tobin Brothers Moving and Storage handles each of its five services — on our own trucks, at a flat rate put in writing before we load.

Same-day figure on paper

Point us through the place room by room, flag the stairs and tell us where a truck can sit — a firm number comes back that same day, in writing.

One flat rate, nothing bolted on

Pads, shrink wrap and tape already sit inside that figure, so nothing gets re-tallied after the ramp comes down.

Packing, some of it or all

Kitchens get dish barrels, closets get wardrobe cartons, and anything glass or stone rides in a crate we build to fit.

One lead from first box to last

Whoever sizes up your home is the lead on the truck and the one who runs the closing walk-through — no hand-off midway.

Book us once and the whole job stays in-house — our trucks, Kevin’s crew, Diane on the paperwork. Nobody from another outfit walks in halfway through. We run five services across the Dayton area, each quoted as one flat rate you sign before the first item leaves the house.

Five ways we move you

Service Best for
Local moving Anywhere in Montgomery County and the Miami Valley, studio to full house
Long-distance Out of Dayton along I-70 and I-75 under our own authority
Apartment & condo Walk-ups, elevators, downtown lofts, COIs filed for management
Full-service packing We box the whole home a day early — dishes to closets
Short-term storage A clean, secured hold when closing lands after move-out

What the rate covers

  • Two movers and a truck at a flat $118/hr; three movers at $168/hr, one-hour minimum
  • Pads, hand trucks, shrink-wrap, and wardrobe boxes included, never itemized later
  • Released-value coverage at $0.60 per pound comes standard, with full-value protection on the amount you declare
  • The flat total is locked in writing before load day and doesn’t budge

No meter ticking, no surprise line after you sign. Talk it through at (888) 278-9005, or price it yourself on the estimator.

The move, start to finish

How Our Crew Runs a Move

  1. 1

Free quote — ten minutes, tops

We handle: Tell us how many rooms, whether it’s stairs or an elevator, and the nearest legal spot for the truck; a flat written price follows.

What helps most: Keep any building COI rules and elevator windows nearby — that’s what turns the number from a guess into an exact figure.

  2. 2

We nail down the date and access

We handle: Any freight elevator gets reserved and we clear curb space with the city, so the truck parks at your door instead of down the street.

What helps most: Line up the two dates — when you’re out of the old place and into the new one — and pass us the tighter of the two.

  3. 3

    Wrap & protect

We handle: Every piece of furniture goes under a moving blanket, upholstery gets shrink-wrapped, and bed frames and table legs come apart into bags tagged with their own hardware.

What helps most: Mark each box with the room it’s headed to, and carry papers, keys and anything small and valuable yourself rather than loading them.

  4. 4

Load, haul, set down & review

We handle: Whoever loads the truck is who unloads it — pieces land where you point, beds go back together, and we haul off the packing debris.

What helps most: Walk the place with the crew lead before the truck rolls off, while anything still left to fix costs you nothing.
